That depends on the latitude.

The whole earth spins once around every 24 hours.

One foot from the pole, that is about 3.14 feet/24 hours=2.5E-5 mph = 0.000025 mph

At the equator, that is about 25,000miles/24 hours= about 1040 mph.

Big difference!

Since the circumference of the Earth at the Equator is 24,902 miles and the the Earth rotates every 24 hours, the surface at the equator travels around the axis at 1038 mph. Of course, if you're someplace other than the equator, as most of us are, you're moving slower since your closer to the Earths axis and therefore traveling around in a smaller circle.
