A cloud of gases and dust in space started to come together due to gravity. The process started most likely because a nearby star exploded and the cloud started to come together. As gravity moved the gases and solids in the cloud closer and closer together the objects in the middle formed our sun. Whirlpools in the cloud as it collapsed started the planets forming. Grains of gases and dust stuck together about 93 million miles from the sun to form our earth.
