Lewis was absolutely awesome in his prime. However, at this point his skills are starting to decline, so I will have to choose Urlacher.

another part of the question is when. Brian Urlacher is the more dominate player now. Ray Lewis is starting to age, and slow down. Back then, you didn't want to play the Ravens, because of the wrecking ball behind the linemen. Now, Brian Urlacher is fast, but doesn't have as big a hit as Ray.

First you have to realize that they are from two different generations. I would have to say Ray Lewis would nudge out Urlacher as being a better LB though. Urlacher is a great player but I think Lewis brings more passion to game. Lewis has a way about him that he can make the most uninspired group of people want to come out and bach some heads.

Again though, After both of their careers are finished it could be a different outcome. But if Urlacher ever wants to eclipse Lewis I think he needs to win a Superbowl and and he has to be the MVP in that win.

Ok Urlacher and Lewis yes are quite possibly the 2 best in the NFL, but you would also have to put into the mix Shawn Merriman. Now I don;t know why people are bashing Merriman because he used the roids but i mean comon how does getting stronger affect how you are able to play the game of football (IT DOESN'T HE HAD THE SKILLS ALL ALONG TO PLAY THE GAME). But if I had to choose one I would say Urlacher because he is more athletic and faster than Lewis even though Lewis has already won a SB. My ranks are this...... 1)Urlacher, 2)Lewis, 3)Merriman as of right now.

Thats a tough question! With out a dought THEY both are important part to there teams. But with Ray getting older now, and Brian is in his PRIME. AS of RIGHT NOW ITs Brian Urlacher... but 5- 8 years ago it was RAY LEWIS

Definitely Urlacher. He took them to the Superbowl and the stats say it's Urlacher as well

Thats hard, both are pretty much the top two LB's in the league. Only thing I could say is Urlacher is a bit faster and younger. Thats about it. If you traded them, it probably wouldnt make a difference for either team lol.

Bigjim you said two different generations??? They are three years apart. Lewis born in 1975 and Urlacher '78. So thats same gen and if trying to say that they are in different generations in NFL speak based on years played... ummm well that is false too.

Urlacher is better. Better numbers, faster, stronger, etc.
