Try clearing everything off of it and resyncing it from scratch. It sounds like it can't find the files.

My iPod did that exact same thing. After resetting it countless times, I ended up taking it back to the Apple store. They ran some hardware tests on it, then said it was no good. My warranty was up, so they offered to replace it with the exact same model for $60, or they offered me the chance to get a brand new iPod at a 10% discount. If you've reset it and it still skips songs or doesn't play some, try taking it back to a store. You can find one on Apple's website (http://www.apple.com).

You might have to completely reset your iPod to it's original factory settings and then reload the music.

If that doesn't work, take it back to Apple. If it's still under warranty, they will replace it. If not, maybe they can fix it.

Apple is pretty good around replacing things. My iPod tended to freeze, not turn off and then just reset itself. I took it back and they gave me a brand new one. I haven't had an issue with the new one.

The ipod can't locate the songs. The list is still there but the music is moved, changed or deleted. Try cleaning the files out and reinstalling the music on your ipod.

just try dropping it on the ground a few times
when that doesnt work, smash it with a sledge hammer
then call apple customer service and tell them ur ipods having some technical problems and it needs to be replaced.
you will have one that works in no time!

If the song is not from itune, then most likely the mp3 compression is not good enough. Perhaps you can get another copy of the song or ask someone to use LAME codec to encode it to mp3 again.

i think whats wrong, is that when you press it down, ur pressing too hard. try hitting it reallly lightly. If that doesn't work, remove the song from the ipod that is making it skip.

i think it means that the files are corrupt or summat, if you've plugged it in after you have deleted the songs off the pc, it does this sometimes as well

take it too the shop you bought it from, it genrally means you`ve put some illegal music on it... restore it, and resave the legal music on it, or yeah take it somewhere like comet or pcworld.
same thing happened to me, when i got something off llimewire.
