I see all of the previous answers have a cleanser or newspaper in the answer. I am sure this works for most people, however the true secret is all in the technique.
Never allow any cleaner to dry too quickly on the glass, this will result in straks everytime. Use a moistened car chamois on the glass after cleaning. This will pick up any cleanser residue and it will not streak because it is leaving no water behind.

Costco carries one in a can called "Glass Cleaner" by Sprayaway. It comes in a 3 pack and I've found it to be excellent! Are you cleaning outside or inside glass? If it's outside weather plays a HUGE factor when cleaning glass. Too hot or too cold and it won't come clean and streak free no matter what.

Make a 50/50 mixture of methylated spirits and water. Clean the glass with this mixture and only use crunched up newspaper. Windex is guaranteed to produce streaks.

You can use Windex or vinegar and water, and the best way to clean it off and leave your mirrors, glass streak free is with a squeegee. Be sure to wipe off with the squeegee over lapping each pass so as not to leave lines.

Get some glass cleaner spray that goes on like foam and use newspaper to wipe it clean. No fuzz and no streaks!! Works great in your home or vehicles.

I have used newspaper to get rid of streaks and to put a shine on the windows after cleaning them. Same with my car windows.

Besides using window cleaner try some vinegar and wipe with paper towels, or newspapers. The vinegar dissolves lime build up.

Windex works, just make sure you use a lot of it so you don't have too little and try wipeing it around to much, leaving streaks.

Cinch in the red bottle cannot be beat. It leaves your windows streak-free, unlike Windex.
