How can i get a driver for my sound card on a Dell Inspiron 700m with Windows XP? What is the sound card and the driver fr it called?

Go to Dell website go to driver support on the Dell website..they might not have it cuz xp might not be continued anymore but they probably do.....put in your make and model select your operating system and then it should show you all the drivers for your system..good luck!

Dell's website "Drivers and Downloads" offers an easy way to get drivers when you know your model number.
I used the information you posted and got straight to the page below that should be your sound driver.

The back of your dell should have a little white sticker with a code # on it. If you go to Dells' website and go to support, it should ask for your code #... Type that in and it knows everything about your computer the way they shipped it to you and will list all current drivers for it.

easiest (and best) way - visit dell's pages and find audio drivers for your model.
if you want sound card manufacturer's drivers (altough this is not really recommended for laptops), get sysoft sandra, it will tell you what audio card you have. then visit manufacturer's web page and download drivers.
