Yes, I believe in the afterlife. I have to have something to look forward to when I finally kick the bucket. I mean, there has to be more to this "life" than the one that I am currently living right? Imagine, a place where there is no war, death, hate....
Besides, someone has to prove to me there isn't life after death.

I believe there is an afterlife. I've felt and pondered it since I was little, I believe a lot of things that many people would have trouble with. Many of us live in communities of people that believe as I believe, When our physical bodies parish, we are returned to our higher spiritual selves and go through what we call, a "life review" seeing imediatly where we went wrong, and what we did right in the life we just left. At that point, as our highest spiritual selves, we can either be born again to another life here on earth and try to reach our highest spiritual selves while in that physical body, or we might stay in the Heavenly dimension and focus loving energy to those we left behind. The goal and purpose for the life/death cycle in my opinion is it's the process through which we are accomplishing our goal...our goal ultimitly is to bring all life on earth to thier highest spiritual selves without death, Trancending if you will, into the heavenly dimension as a human race, ending the cycle of life and death.
If this even seems like a posibility to you, or you burn with desire to find the answers to why we exist at all on this crazy planet...I invite you to read my sources listed below, A wonderful series of books that I personaly believe in firmly. "The Celestine Prophecy" has very recently made a movie! :D I recommend reading the book first of course, but if you go strait to the movie, make sure to watch the bonus features with James Redfield explaining why they made the movie. Pay attention to how each cast and crew member came to make this movie by the Spiritual path that the book/movie talks about! Each person in the movie, believes in the movie! That has to mean something right?

It'd be nice if there was a peaceful afterlife; however, I refuse to live my life expecting one. For all I know, when I die, there could be absolute nothingness, and what would be the point of spending all of my living days for nothingness?
I believe in the here and now, and living in the moment. I certainly do hope there is an afterlife, but I won't rely or put all of my faith into if for the sheer reason of living life while I KNOW I'll still have a life to live.

No, for two reasons. One is that there is little evidence to suggest that there is one. However the main reason is that the idea of living for eternity is repulsive. I mean after the first few billion years you will have run out of things to do. I cannot think of any purpose or task which will last for eternity and isn't completely futile. Moreover if I was to lose all my memories, as suggested by some types of reincarnation, then "I" would not be living after death, it would be either a part of me, or something else.
sorry for the rant.

Yes. I had a very good friend who was a respected psychic. She looked at a portrait painted of me when I was three years old. Her comment was, "a very young face and very old eyes". she told me I had lived many lives and put me thru regression hypnosis. Told her I couldn't be hypnotized. She recorded the session and I related taking care of kids by a river during Harvest in the 1870's. A child under my care drowned. I had been dreaming about it in my life now and was very upset. After the session I never had the dream again. Take what you will from this.

Yes. It was right after my father's funeral. I had to take family members to the airport. I parked my car in the short term parking lot. I helped carry the luggage to the front of the terminal. We said our good-byes. I was really upset and really out of it. I went back to get my car and realized that I forgot where I had parked. A man saw me and asked if I needed help. He was wearing a security uniform and he told me where my car was. As I thanked him I noticed he had the same name as my father; which was a really unusual name. I walked about three steps and turned around. The man was no where to be seen. Confused I went were he told me and my car was there. When I got in the car ; laying on the seat was my fathers' watch that had been missing for years. When I feel bad I take the watch to bed with me and I always dream about my father.

I belive that my personal life will be over but as the substance of my physical body goes back to the nature, the parts of it become parts of something else's. If it is a life form, then parts of mine gain a life.
I also believe that my soul just varnishes after my body dies.
