If he doesnt use any sort of creams on his face or skin, such as any sort of acne treatment, man the only thing I can really think of is it might be an excess amount of something in his system.
Now if he sweats alot, its from salt in his sweat drying out and leaving the stains, of course, salt water mixed with sun, means fast fading. Whe I was in the Marines, we had the same effects on our cammies when we would go on 10 or 20 miles hikes, you sweat so much, you leave salt stains on your clothes. Which was why we would wear old F'd up cammies. But as for a chemical in his skin or sweat, I honestly cant pinpoint it. But I'm guessing it might be from him sweating.

there is nothing you can do about his sweat problem. For the shirt collars, use a medium firm toothbrush and liquid Era Plus right on the collar. Brush and let sit for at least an hour. Then launder as usual. Should help some. (It probably won't get out old stains, but you can try) For the towel, have him use white and you use a color of your choice. That's what I do. Pillow cases, same thing, buy him white ones no matter what the sheets are.

RE:
What causes bleach-like staining from someone's body contact on clothes, towels, pillowcases?
My husband's skin seems to stain his shirt collars, our towels, pillowcases, anything it touches, leaving a bleach-like mark that ruins the fabric. It literally bleaches the color out. He uses no chemicals on his skin, no hair dye, hair products or anything that I can think would cause this...

One of two things could be happening. Either it could be from some sort of facial cleanser, or just the acidity in his skin. I have pretty acidic skin so I know what you are going through. Mine isn't so bad that it bleaches fabrics, but I'm really jewelry sensitive. My only suggestion would be, if he isn't using abrasive soaps, to go to the doctors and have a full physical. Like others have said this may be a sign of a medical problem. Hope this helps you out.

Hi there,
We have the EXACT same problem in our house. We found out that my ex was using salicylic acid (anti-acne medication) to wash his face. This was bleaching the pillow cases, towels, and in one bathroom THE WALL!
Other medicated acne washes and lotions also have other bleaching agents like benzyol perozide which can cause the same effect.
Let hubby use boring white towels and pillowcases. Use the fun stuff for yourself!

Does he use any facial/acne products with Benzoyl Peroxide? This was happening to me for years and I couldn't figure out why. It sounds like the same exact experience that I had. My shirts would have what looked like bleach spots around the neck and my pillowcases were completely discolored. I was using an OTC acne cream with Benzoyl Peroxide. If you read the bottle, in fine print, it says that it may cause fabric discolorations. I got a mild prescription acne cream and the problem was gone. You might want to check the facial products your husband uses.

You guys are joking right? You are telling her how to clean her shirts? Or "your best guess is that it is something in his system?" Give me a break! So here's the deal; this happens to me too. I use all natural soaps and laundry products. I eat well, and I don't take drugs, smoke, or drink. I believe my PH is too acidic. I would like some real answers to these questions; not a bunch of recycled responses please. BTW if you google "my body bleaches cloths" you will see many people asking this same question..... And many others recycling the same idiotic responses that are placed here. Only real information please; with sources. Thanks.

Yes, check glucose levels in the blood. Sounds like there's an imbalance some where of an acid or base. He could be secreting extra acid? Health issue...

Your body secretes oils that adhere to fabrics and thus attracts dirt and other nasty stuff. It's why you have dirty traffic areas on light carpets, the oils from your feet are being left behind. Dust mites and other unfavorable creepy crawlers also eat these secretions and leave their feces behind marking some fabrics. Ewwww, groass I know.

Is is skin overly oily? My hubby has oily skin and we have something like this but it is just on the pillow cases I haven't noticed it on towels and washclothes. Our problem has a yellow hue to it, not bleach-like.
