Why is my canna dying?

I have a tropical yellow canna and it's starting to wilt and it's getting brown. Is bad or good if you water it a alot or water it a little? Does it live better in warmer places or cooler places?

bring it inside and spray water on it........

Overwatering will cause the leaves to turn soggy brown and then fall off. Not enough water will make the new leaves drop off before they reach full size. Stop watering and see what happens.
