I just got offered a new job that's great for my career advancement but it pays less money than my current job. For the long run the new job is better but for now my current job is better because I am need of money, badly.

If you don’t have kids or a mortgage, chances are you probably don’t need the money that badly and will regret not taking the job. Even if you do if you are as far as you’re going to go now, it would be dumb not to take the job.

Make sure you’re not just scared of going out of your comfort zone

Well, is the new job going to pay more money eventually? If you just need the money, stick with what you've got. Otherwise, advancing in your career is always a good idea. You might talk to the people who offered you the new job and see if you can get a higher wage/salary.

Is there anything you can cut out of your current expenses to adjust to the new pay? How long would you be on the new job before you are given a evalutation and possilby a "promotion"? I'd carefully consider accepting the new job, especially if it will be beneficial to you in the future. However, if you need the money, keep your old job and hopefully opportunity will knock again.

Are there any areas in your life that you can cut back on to save money? If not and you still need the money, then it would be unwise to take the new job...it's important to be able to get by now...but if you can cut back and save money...do what you know will be best in the long run. you may not be as comfortable right now...but at least you know that down the line youwill be.
