Sometimes that is but I would call your doctor and ask him. Is it slow or heavy bleeding? If you have clots bigger then ur palm go to the ER asap.

I am at 2 1/2 months and I just stopped bleeding this week. Here is what I was told...

-If you are filling a pad in under an hour go to the ER right away
-If you pass blood clots the size of a golf ball go to the ER right away.

Hang in there hopefully it will be better soon!

I don't think I was still bleeding at 8 weeks. You might want to call your doctor and have her check it out, but my hunch is that the reason you are still bleeding this long might be because you may be "over-doing" it when you should be resting. Are you cleaning house, doing laundry, or exercising, etc. while baby is sleeping? You really, really need to stay off your feet and rest when baby is resting until the bleeding slows down. But again, please give your doctor a call, as she may want to check you out.

Apparently there is someone out here who can miraculously diagnose online because they are giving everyone who even "hints" at this not being normal, a thumbs down. Everyone has different situations that are not necessarily the carbon copy of the Answerer's. I must stress that you should have your doctor check you just to make sure.

Go and see a doctor, I would. I think it is on the outer verge of normal. Having a small baby is tiring enough as it is, without any underlying health problems, so it seems wise to get checked out.

Any biggish clots are a bad thing, 'spotting' probably isn't so bad.

Also, I have a feeling that whether or not you are breastfeeding or not might make a difference to how long you bleed and how well your womb contracts.

Try not to worry, but I should get it checked out.

You should have had your six week check up by now and should have asked the doctor. I would say it you have been bleeding a lot the whole two months NO that is not normal. With my first I had spotting every two weeks and I was breast feeding. What is normal for one woman may not be normal for another.

i know that it is not normal for me. for all of my three pregnancies, by the second month i had already gotten my first period after being pregnant. this last time my bleeding lasted about a month. i would put in a call to your ob just to make sure. but keep in mind everyone is different and for you that could be normal.

That seems excessive, even for a vaginal delivery. The key is that the bleeding gets less every day, it should go from heavy and red, to reddish-pink, to pink tinged/yellow to normal white/clear discharge, usually gone by 2-6 weeks. It should not get lighter, then recur again. It's possible to have a little retained placental fragment or other problem, you should go in to your OB.

Yes it is normal.. most women bleed anywhere from 4-10 weeks after child birth. there is no exact amount of time for you to bleed since everyone is so very different.

If you are bleeding excessively or you are experiencing alot of pain then you need to call your doctor.. otherwise it will stop on its own.

Good Luck and congrats on the new addition!!

It depends on if you ae bleeding HEAVILY and every single day for 2 straight months. You should really go see the doctor and clarify that. You can't afford to lose anymore blood than what you did when giving birth. You need your strength for your baby.

Unless you're experiencing severe pain, weakness and fainting, I would say all is normal. Most women bleed 6 weeks to 21/2 months after childbirth.
