i dont think so, it can also be enjoyment, the trick is moderation and not to have it take the place of other unmet needs,, just like with sex

Well I can say that when I was younger I used to just eat because I needed the energy. Now that I am older, I get more into food, and I am a bit overweight because of it.

i think food should be used as both. i mean what is the point of anything if not enjoying it ? so i say eat for fuel so as not to die or get sick but enjoy what you eat. don't eat for depression and don't eat just because eating makes you happy but eat things you like. does that make any sense to anyone other then me ??

I've never heard that theory before. Hell, no.
Food is one of the most wonderful sensual delights in this world, as long as you don't let it lead to gross obesity.
There are so many herbs, spices, cultures to enjoy.
Food IS enjoyment.

they always told me, don't be like animals, they live to eat (enjoyment), be a human and eat to live (fuel). but i always thought the opposite. animals do not cook their food in a special way. they don't care about a special taste, smell, and look. only animals use food as fuel. we eat to enjoy. and we should live to enjoy eating, sex, social relations, beauty... we should live to eat (enjoy) not eat to live, like animals.

Yes, and therefore you should spend every waking hour doing nothing for enjoyment, but only for utility.

If so then why God had created the sense of taste, I think we eat what we like & enjoy eating it....but not all the time, so that religions have put regime of the fasting.

I think the real question is, do we eat to live or live to eat?
