The only part I have ever seen is a young woman with long stringy dark hair. She is by the edge of a body of water, and she turns and her hands are missing and blood (or something visceral) is flowing from her wrists. She opens her mouth and all that comes out is a crazy hollow sound. I would love to see all of this film to figure out whta the heck is going on.

I have to disagree with all those who say it's The Ring. No character in either of the Ring movies is missing her hands.

On the other hand, I'll put in another hesitant vote for Titus, with Anthony Hopkins, based on Shakespeare's "Titus Andronicus." I don't remember the film too well, since it's been years since I saw it, but I do remember some scenes in which Lavinia was mutilated. What you're describing does sound like a horror movie, though, so I can't be sure about this.

By the way, Titus was one of the worst modern adaptations of Shakespeare I've seen.

I agree with Fuji. No blood in The Ring at all. To suggest a title I haven't seen on here, try The Gift (with Cate Blanchett). Even if it isn't the movie you are thinking of, it is a great murder mystery/thriller.

I think you might be referring to the Anthony Hopkins film 'Titus,' which i've seen part of. I seem to recall a scene of that nature.
