Hi guys

In my previous message i wrote about a recent problem i am having with my pc. In reply someone told me to go into safe mode and uninstall the items under the network adapter (WAN etc). This is in Device Manager. I was just wandering though, if i uninstalled and then restarted in normal windows mode, how would i reinstall these items that i just uninstalled? Where would i have to fo to get these items back?

Thanks

.
A. Go back to 1st question and read my answer.

B. When you remove hardware, like a Network Adapter
it is UNinstalled.
When you insert any new hardware, upon reboot XP will "see" and install the new hardware.

If you just want to uninstall without physically removing
in Device Manager
RIGHT click and select DELETE.

Then reboot, and windows will "see" it as new and automatically install.

You don't necessarily have to uninstall the network adapter. You can just back into Device Manager, click on the properties of that adapter, and just click 'disable'. Then if you want to have it work again, just click enable. That way there is uninstall/install hassle whatsoever. Seems like easiest solution even though did not see your original post.

Genraelly your system will prompt you to install them when you load windows again. You will then have the option to install them from a disk you have, install them using generic windows drivers or not installing them again.

I hope this helps.
