Try www.rotosound.com for strings. Rotosound have made strings that are used by some of music's biggest names, including the Who and Franz Ferdinand. They sell pretty much all guitar strings, both for electric guitar and bass, as well as other instruments such as the banjo and mandolin.
I've used them without any bother at all.
