Namaste - I visited India for some time -- 15 months -- and during that time I was very happy. I had to return to my life in the U.S. and am so unhappy now. Do you have any suggestions about how to bridge the gap between the two cultures so I am able to take it? I am not able to return as yet. I am "homesick " for India. I am sure you know what is missing and what could be added, more than I, since you are native, is that not so?

Thank you !

Yes, I did, twice. I am from India but returned twice for 5 weeks and 2 month vacations. Each time I am depressed and so did my family,. We talk a lot with friends and family back home...they miss us too.
We feel like screaming at the silence here but the videos and photographs that we took there help us. Keeping in touch with other Indians which helps a lot. Yes, we still are home sick and until we go back again in about four months I got to hang on.
And can you imagine, my husband is leaving today without us the rest of the family!!!!!The nerve of him!!!!!!!!
Watch Indian movies, go to Indian restaurants and most of all go to Indian churches to associate with people there. It helps.
And dream on about going back.
God bless you.

I'm visiting there for the first time this year and we'll be moving to live there in 6 years. I know that I won;t want to come back after this trip though.
