All light travels 3 X 10^8 m per second, or 300000000m/s. That means that in in a few seconds, light can go around the world a couple of times!

Velocity of light in vaccum/air, c=2.9979*10^8 m/sec.

Depends on the medium it is traveling through. 186,000 mi/sec or 300,000 kps is approximately the vacuum speed. It is slower than that in any other medium (like water or glass).

2.998x10^8 meters/second (in a vacuum) = 299,800,000m/s
OR 299,800 Km/s

Remember - it depends on the medium light is passing through!
