i like both, but greenday is cooler to me, i only like a few of blink 182s songs...

This was tough, seeing as I bought tickets for the Pop Disaster Tour in 2002 to see both bands. For one, I think Green Day has the history and true bandship that most rock bands lack. While they received a lot of scrutiny for their "selling out" to a major label - they are definitely the "cool uncles" of Punk Rock. True they fall into the category of Pop Punk, I can think of no other fun, poppy, Top 40 band than Blink 182 - who is no more, sadly. And in terms of Blink's status as a unified band, it's tough to ever judge them as a group when the three of them did so many side projects and now are no longer a group. (NOTE: I blame Tom.) So in short, I choose Green Day every day, any day...and recommend you read Marc Sptiz's biography "Nobody Likes You" which highlights Green Day's history and how they have become legends in an untalented society that chooses music based on publicity hype, good looks, and pathetic self-promotion.
