serfs are the most miserable class among the feudal system. they were one of the divisions of the peasants.they were treated as slave people.they were forced to plough the land belonging to others.

Serfs were peasants but not all peasants were serfs. Serfs were essentially tied to the land they worked. They couldn't legally just get up and leave. Some other peasants were free, could own land and do with it as they pleased.

The serfs are the lowest people in the feudal system. They were the people who worked the land, like farmers, and were protected by the knight or lord whose land they lived on and worked. I believe they're more often called peasants and both terms apply to the same people.
