And liberals are different how?

I think a line has been drawn. It has become clear that those in the House and Senate, Democrats AND Republicans, have a desire to finally begin listening to each other. Obviously many Republicans have withdrawn their support from the President, and publicly. Those who choose to ignore this and instead choose blind loyalty and the status quo because anything else would require serious thought, are becoming the minority. It's about time too. So I do not think this is true of all conservatives. I have been pleasantly surprised by many conservatives willingness to admit things are not hunky-dory in Bushland anymore. Those who just continue to flame and regurgitate are pretty useless to the problems at hand.

It always amazes me. Abortion, gays, taxes, guns, and the next democratic threat, currently Senator Clinton. The FACT that President Bush, V.P. Cheney and Secretary of State Rice are all oil people and all very wealthy, never seems to get through, even when gasoline was over three dollars a gallon. What side do you think they are really on, ours? Is it a coincidence that the President just the other night said we need to increase our Strategic Oil Reserves? Folks, these people are not for you because you got a few hundred bucks several years ago, wake-up. Face it, other than a tax rebate check every once in a while, you're getting screwed by them along with the rest of us. Here's a link, http://www.cbpp.org/9-19-05tax.htm you don't even have to read the article, look at the graph, it says it all unless you are among the few. Legislating morals will never be accomplished and gays are a part of humanity, accept it. I believe this is why people refer to republicans as lemmings. You are led along with promises that for the most part are never met, over and over again.

So that means you listen to FOX news and conservative talk shows b/c you don't believe in just hearing your own opinions regurgitaed by the mainstream liberal press, right?

I would be interested in a study to see which side of the isle actually does hear more of both sides - I still watch SNL, network news with the likes of Katie Couric, and read the liberal rag that they call my local paper. Your ideology is hard to miss. Ours requires active effort and one that I'm willing to bet that you guys don't make a purpose to actually study except in sound bites. Go out and buy a copy of "Culture Warriors", read it and then come back and ask the same question.

Added: Since you do claim to consistently read and watch the conservative media outlets, I concede that you are in the elite minority of informed liberals.

I haven't notice that Libs are any different. You only hear the same incessant wail about WMDs, pull out the troops, and constant opposition to anything Bush does regardless of any merit it might have. I still have yet to hear any intelligent alternatives to anything that has been criticized.

It's a form of positive reinforcement that helps them continue to believe what they choose to in the presence of absolute and incontrovertible evidence to the contrary.
