i guess ppl are stereotyped by their race or where they live what kind of music they should like. well i like retro rock and i'm not that big a fan of rap and i've gotten some grief for it.
i don't, but do you sometimes feel when your around certain ppl you can't listen to the music you really like cause they'll talk about you?

I'm with you! I like rock music and sometimes even metal! No hard feelings to anyone that does like rap music, but I have to say that rap music is so degrading to women so I don't like rap at all. But when I'm with someone that does like rap and we're having a conversation about music I'm not just going to act like I like rap, because I don't and I can't fake what kind of music I like. It's just not right! Just listen to what type of music you want to listen to and don't go by someone elses opinion. Who cares what they think!

I get alot of crap for my taste in music, They think that just because I'm Primarily black, I should be a 50 cent groupie. My sissy listens to all these hip hop and R&B music and I have no clue what the hell it is, I don't identify with it. I look for music that I can relate to not what my color is "supposed" to listen to. I am a HUGE AFI, My Chemical Romance, and Enter Shikari fan. I don't care WHAT people have to say about what I listen to. I'm not no ****** oreo either. I dont care WHO I'm around, AFI WILL be blasted from my stereo, and those who don't like it, have the option to leave.

Well, just about any music I listen to besides hip-hop or R & B I get talked about for listening to. I too am not a big rap fan. I do like some songs, but they think it is a buzzkill to get the clean virgin of any CD. Yes, I often feel I can't listen to what I want to whn they are in my car, but somtimes I just tell them"it's my car, my choice!" Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

like when im around my black (im not racist) friends, they keep talkin bout chris brown and all that kind of music-rap, hip-hop, ect. and i like rock, and their just like"why do you listen to all that weird stuff". u should b able to listen to wutever kind of music want to, it shouldnt mater about ur race!

Nope. I listen to what I like. Everyone knows I have rap and love rock. I do my own things and I don't give a rat's behind if people want to talk about me. That's just stupid.

I don't tell people the kinds of music I listen to unless they ask but I admit that I listen to rock/pop/and emo. My friend who is gothic listens a lot of screamo and she gets made fun of for it but she doesn't care and people are just stupid.
