48-50.
I have always known exactly who I was but about two years ago I realized that I respected myself in all ways, for who I was, the decisions I make, my past, my talents and my flaws.
It was then that I realized, in a way that I hadn't before, that I was the bottom line when it came to my life and my future. Heady stuff.
Being told one can do whatever one wants with one's life, and knowing it for a fact, are two different things. I believe maturity comes with knowing it for a fact because only then are you absolutely responsible for everything else that happens in your life, or that happens because of your influence.

20's. I went through a few very traumatic events, lived through them and became stronger, survived on my own. Found out who I was really. Gained faith in myself. Wish it had been easier as I could do without the residual mental scarring, but I am more myself now having gone through that than I ever was before.
Up until my 20's I was pretty much brainwashed as I had a very rough childhood and thought nothing of myself. Although intelligent I accepted others opinions and was pretty much a depressed pawn without a voice of my own.
Pain made me grow. It was difficult, and I'd say that nothing really gelled until my late 20's when I could clear my head and see how far I had come. I like who I am now. I can still be hurt, but I am resilient now.
Knowing who you are is everything, and once you have that strength, no one can take it away again completely.

when i was 23 or 24, i finally started keeping a job and acting like a mom........depends on if ur male or female, married or single. I think marriage matures you faster and also if you're a male you may delay some in maturity its a proven fact, haha

You have to have an immature period right before your 'mature most' period.

After my daughter was born (in my thirty's) when I realized that now someone else could be judged by what I do or dont do it was not just me for me or about me anymore it became me for her, for us, for the family and for the future. The quickest way to make a boy into a man is to give him a little girl or boy to care for and be a role model to.

The past two years. I'll be 33 in April.
God hit me upside the head with a cosmic two-by-four to get me to wake up and change. Best thing that has ever happened to me.

After giving birth to my first child. Before him, it was all about me, and getting through college with my social status intact. But after giving birth, I realized that there was much more to the world than me me me.
