I hate the number 4 because in Chinese (Cantonese), "four" and "die" have the same pronunciation. So, I try to avoid four amounts of anything.

I don't think I follow any of the usual ones. I come up with my own. I don't pick up pennies - in fact, I toss them in the little sharing container at checkouts or toss them in the garbage. I walk under ladders, have a black cat, don't waste time searching for 4-leaf clovers (although I actually found one once), don't believe in god....and the list goes on.
But I fear instant karma. I think I've got it bad. And I believe in the sardonicness(?) of fate. Anytime I say "Gosh I'm so happy!" I immediately follow with "But I know that this is just a fleeting moment in time and very shortly something will come along to make me unhappy so you don't have to hit me with a lightning bolt."
And If I ever say anything outright mean I say (to myself) something similar to acknowledge the fact that "there but by the grace of god go I" so I don't immediately get afflicted with whatever I was just whining about or making fun of.
EDIT: ktdid - I realize the irony of my use of this phrase, but sometimes these statements fill the bill. I have no problem shouting out "oh god oh god" when the time is right either! lol

If ghosts count as a superstition, (some people do, but i'm not sure if it's really accurate) then they're my main superstition. Other then that, not much, but I do think that they're intresting and sometimes I suppose some of them do have some truth involved.

I don't ever put a hat on a bed, and I don't brush a broom across my feet. The rest I kind of blow off, 13 is my favorite #.

I knock wood and throw salt over my shoulder if any spills. I have lucky amulets that I carry. There's probably more, but I can't think of any right now. :-)
