What should be the legal age of a child engaging in sexual activity in the US?

Due to the alarming numbers of HIV infections amongst the African American Women community, our group is asking teenagers to abstain from sexual contact.

i think the legal age to start having sex should 20 or higher.

If they're under 18, they can start anytime, they just can't cross the 18 year old mark. I don't think laws should interfere with this, it's none of their business. I'm not advocating everyone start sexual relations ASAP, just stating a fact. I personally endorse abstinence when possible, but the government can't regulate that.
