No, it simply means you have a brain. Just because you are poor doesn't mean it is a permanent situation as the liberals would have you believe. Educate yourself, As you learn better skills, better jobs come with them. With better jobs, more money. Pretty simple, huh. The liberals would have you believe it is next to impossible for one to improve one's lot in life. Don't believe them. You can do anything you put your mind to. Good Luck and God Bless.

Not at all my friend. The Democrats claiming to have the interest of the working people at heart is a load of hogwash. The modern democrat isn't the same party it was in the days of FDR and Truman. Democrats on the federal level only are interested in serving themselves and trying to support their agenda by doing things that benefit low wage earners, which by the way are mostly students. Guess who pays for it? You and me, the working guys, when everything goes up but your pay. Remember Clinton only took credit for prosperity. GW's dad handed him an economy on a steady 5% INCREASE. Clinton, like most modern democrats was good at at taking credit for things he did little more to accomplish, other than "being there".

Clinton is also Gave the North Korea and Iran nuclear technology and did very little to stop terrorism. Not real smart in my book.

Bush is faced with trying to run a tight ship in times of war and bad economics. The president has no control over oil prices. The oil producing nations, supply and demand and the world economy control oil prices.

If being on the low end of the income totem pole makes you too stupid to check out the facts so that you believe their BS, be a democratic sheep.

If you still have your intelligence, hold on to the beliefs you know are right. It will pay off in the end.

Not necessarily, depends on your philosophical view of the world and what you consider important. It could be quite rational, if your material well-being is secondary to other ideals.

... but ...

(a) It is a miscalculation to believe that a pure free market as advocated by the right is going to make you materially better off. It might or it might not if it were ever tried, but in its pure form it is a philosophy seized on by rich Englishmen in the 18th and 19th centuries to provide moral justification for the extremes of wealth and poverty their society exhibited. Its only answer to poverty is "off your butt, idler!" and your material well-being is, by the tenets of the philosophy, your own damn business. It is just as big a miscalculation to believe the right when they claim a vibrant economy is possible without government, demonstrably not the case.
(b) It is lunacy to believe that the right wingers and conservatives give a hoot about your material well-being. Their actions demonstrate the opposite, over and over. They believe in other things; they say so and they act that way. Most importantly, they recognize no obligation to run government well or at all, including programs that benefit the poor. Indeed by definition in their philosophy, a government program for the poor doesn't benefit the poor; it can't be run well. You as a poor person will only benefit in their world when you are employed in their vibrant economy and they believe it is a historical mistake to help you before then. To get a sense of the relative value they attribute to the employed, owners of capital and the poor, look at the budgetary agenda their philosophy produces. (a) The employed should pay a low, ideally flat tax, to fund the essential activities of government like defense and law enforcement. (b) The owners of capital should pay no tax on its appreciation and no tax when transferring it to another generation. (c) There should be no government programs to help the poor. It may not be stupid for a poor person to be a right-winger, but it would be stupid for that poor person not to recognize the above.
(c) It is stupid, wrong, counter-factual for anyone, poor or otherwise, to believe that the American left doesn't believe in the benefits of free markets and private enterprise or that government by the American left or in accordance with its philosophy hurts the economy. It doesn't. Just doesn't happen. No correlation. The American left believes in markets and private enterprise and getting rich; they just believe in other things too, like helping the poor, maintaining the infrastructure and educating everyone. Most of what they advocate doesn't hurt the economy. It helps it.

It seems clear to me that a rational governing policy involves a balance. Private property and the free market should represent the majority of human activity for the prosperity it produces and the freedom it comprises, but government is necessary to prevent abuses, provide infrastructure and prevent generational inequities. By this idea, being right-wing, believing solely in markets and free enterprise, may not be stupid, but it is unbalanced.

That is a common myth that the poor should be left wing supporters because that is the political ideology that supports them. But in truth history shows that the left is not doing anyone a favor but rather is exploiting those who they can convince are in need of their programs. The "War on Poverty" has had the effect of locking up people in programs that perpetuate need and reliance on politicians. However when the programs finally were revised to provide encouragements for self-reliance such as work requirements and limits on welfare, the poverty rates declined, and even crime has declined in those areas most effected by reform. Support those politicians who are not trying to buy your votes with your very own taxes and bigger and more intrusive government programs. It feels good to make progress on your own. If you are locked into poverty, seek help from education programs by community colleges, job training, and solid church groups that get you on your feet today so that you can run tomorrow. I lost my job and my savings, and lived with the help of others for a while, and it was a hard struggle, but today I own my own business and put three children through college, without anyone from the left wing helping me, but lots of help from good people that believed in me.

Yes. Liberals love the poor, because they get all their votes from the extremely poor and the extremely rich. If you vote for liberals, you'll probably have more money given to you, while at the same time having taxes increased for average, middle class Americans. Sounds fun to me! If I were poor, I would probably also be lazy and have no self respect, and I would want all the free money I could get!

Not if you would like to make money.

Liberals/Progressives consider you rich if you make 60K a year. And poor is 20K

60K a year?. 20K in taxes. 12 K house payment. 6k car payment 7.2k health insurance. 4K clothes.3.3K utilities. 6k charity. 4.8 food& meds. (per year)

So libs tax the rich to pay for the poor? Oh the poor need high speed internet, Oh they need free health care, oh and food stamps oh and section eight housing and bus passes and Don't forget to vote Demoncrats cause we gave it all to you.

Nevermind that the working class paid for all of it.

Would you rather have a buisness owner have more money to grow his company and offer more jobs? Or a hand out from the Libs?

It is actually very wise.

Fiscal conservatives support free markets, which have done more to help the poor than any government program ever could.

It is very easy to buy into liberals promises of wealth redistribution, but history has shown that that attitude leads to catastrophic consequences.

No, if you believe in what right wing/conservatives stand for then feel free to be one no matter what your economic situation.

I don't think right wing conservatism has an economic sense to it. It's all about values. What we believe to be right and wrong. Just because a person is middle or lower class economically doesn't mean they are entitled to anything. I despise this sense of entitlement liberals push.
