We are easily cast in the role as Israel's biggest benefactor becaue we do sell them arms which I suppose we must to balance the power there. We also have a large and very vocal Jewish population that sells that idea too. Recently Jimmy Carter wrote a book saying that we were not even handed in our treatment of the Palestinians and the American Jewish population went crazy with the Alan Dershowitz, O.J.'s lawyer, challenging him to a duel. So a former President is not allowed to express his opinions though the only thing that Carter did do in office was the Camp David accords which was considered a landmark agreement (the first) between Arabs and Jews. Islamic radicals have an easy time casting us in a role as an enemy of Arabs. And I have to say that Arabs truly began to make progress in aligning themselves with the US and getting the US to pressure Israel but then we had Saddam who upset the process. What damage Saddam did not do in 1990 was certainly done on 9/11. Before that there was a pretty successful campaign underway to explain the position of Arabs to the American populace. Obviously that progress was destroyed by Osama Bin Laden and for his personal gain. I think the US is right in trying to enforce the UN resolutions that created Israel but we don't get much support in that area and Israel has never really shown themselves to be a great ally of ours unless they need us.

Short answer: Is it more trouble then it is worth to the avg American-YES. Is it unfair--YES that is the price we all pay for a government controlled by globalists. Do you think the avg. Joe gives a **** about Israel.
Worth?.....That implies that we(USA) gets something of value in return of our support. Israel is used as a pawn for the elite to insure that there is no peace in the middle east. It is an excuse to destroy any strong Arab nations because they are a "threat" to Israel. Never ending war to destabilize the region is what they want . The globalists knew this when they stole Palestine in the "last crusade" and it to the Zionists.

I really believe that we tend to take alot of crap because of the way we unconditionally support Israel. I understand why we play the political game we play, but its such a double standard. Look no further then the fact that Israel has nuclear weapons but we plug our ears and cover our eyes and ignore that fact. While at the same time we invaded one country (Iraq), and are all but threatening an invade another (Iran) because we think they may have them. Don't get me wrong I don't believe Iran or any other unstable government should have the technology, I'm just using it as an example of the double standard we hold onto with Israel.

The best allies of USA the E.U. comes in a difficult position when it comes to choose sides. Because the immediate intrests of Israel in the area do not meet the European. The Europeans need very good relations with the muslim world for 3 reasons. Commerce, Oil, Musli m Immigrants in their own countries. Even Turkey one of the closest ally of USA in the area is taking her distances from the American foreign policy. Turkish public opinion was 98% against the war in Iraq, 99% against the war in Lebanon. Even the European dissaproval of the war in Lebanon was around 65%. In true politics in democracy that shows that the support of the American decisions in the certain issues has a major political cost to every politician supports them.

I'm not going to say anything about zionism which sounds like a bunch of bull to me, possibly because I haven't read up on it but I will say this.
We only donate money to Palestinians when they elect leaders we like.
We have used our veto power in the UN to protect Israel from suffering consequences for waging illegal war against civilian populations... in addition, we give military support to Israel that we do not give to Palestine.
We are attempting to broker a peace between Israel and Palestine and we are openly in favor of Israel. If we cannot hold both parties accountable for their part of the blame, if we are not neutral and impartial we CANNOT be the broker of peace. Some other country has to step in and we have to step OUT, or start behaving like a neutral power.
We even send troops to defend Israel's border from Palestinians. Yet we don't defend Palestine's border from Israel, which sends troops to destroy Palestinian rainwater reservoirs and leads them to starvation.

I fail to appreciate how somebody who might use the preserve Martin Luther King, Jr. may be so anti-Israel. He grow to be a huge supporter of Israel and called out people who weren't. He grow to be a passionate Zionist. Please, replace you preserve in case you persevere to ask those antisemitic questions. yet another component to think of roughly besides. the place do you think of we get maximum of our intelligence from contained in the midsection east? Israel we could us comprehend while undesirable issues are coming our way. Do you think of the Israeli military has no longer come throughout any Muslim radicals or extremist? They get the advice and deliver it our way while they capture those psychos. this is yet another excuse we help Israel. they are our purely important allie contained in the midsection east.

I think we should support Israel as we do. If the world perceives it as excessive so be it. I think we should withdraw all aid from any government and/or people who demonstrate themselves to be our enemies in either actions or rhetoric. Sometimes a people does suffer when its government is evil. If the people of these countries make it clear to us that they want a change - then we should help. Otherwise - laissez-faire and let them eat bread!

It's not perceived, it's quite real. Remember the Lebanon war last summer? We gave them weapons to fight that war, and the 6 Day War, and Israel the country itself. Sounds like a reason to dislike the US to me.
