The drug companies charge so much because of this insane amount of money they pump into a drug before they can even sell it..... on top of that about 80% of drugs don't make it through development and the company loses all the money..... How then do we drop the price of drugs without dropping the price to develop them?

If they didn't pass the cost on they would go out of business!! Then what would you do for new drugs?

Agreed. It will dry up the supply of new drugs.

A ton of money. Research and development in any field is not cheap to begin with. Add a margin of error of virtually zero to the strict testing necessary for approval and you get an even more expensive process.

Regardless; they have a moral obligation NOT to pass that cost on to the people who need the drugs to survive.
Gosh golly...Oh YES...I said "moral obligation"...AND...I'm a liberal!
