People who are week minded and have low self esteem need to feel better about themselves. The easiest way they think to do this is bring others down. Outward appearance is an easy target, so they aim and fire, they feel superior if only for a second and it's addictive.

The point of being racist for some is that they have nothing in life to be proud of except the color of their skin. What's sad is that they didn't even have anything to do with that, so it isn't an accomplishment. Naturally everyone has feelings, but when a person feels like a failure, racism is the perfect excuse.

When you say racist I am assuming you are speaking of the extreme examples of racists. In that case there is no point. It seems to be an ignorant manifestation of ones own insecurities and hatred of ones self.

I truly feel though that we are all racist in a milder maybe subconscious sense. Not that we directly dislike other races, but rather have fears, stereotypes, and prejudices based on past experiences and what we have been taught and told.

I believe one day racism will be all but non existent as everyone is going to be so multiracial that you won't be able to tell who is who is what.

I think that people are scared and of the unknown. If you dont know about people that are differnt then you and dont understand them people seem to dislike or fear them. People do it do handicap as well. Everyone does have feelings, of course. A lot of people prejudge also. Because they seen a spanish or black or whatever on TV acting inapporiate then all of that race is bad. Im glad that Im able to look past race, even though I come from a racist family on my moms side, because If I didnt then I wouldnt have my beatiful son.

Of corse we do. I think it's fear of someone who is different from us. Also, it's a learned thing. A child raised in a home where hatred runs rampant is likely to grow up to be the same way. A child raised in a home where they are taught to accept people and to embrace the differences will probably grow up to have the same feelings. People are people, some good some bad. Unfortunately we will never be rid of it but what a nicer world it would be...

For some people, the only way they can feel good about themselves is to buy into the lie that they're superior to someone else just by virtue of their racial/genetic characteristics. It takes some wacked-out, warped thinking - and it's a sad reflection on humankind as a whole.
