Box window could only mean a window with a boxwood frame. I have never come across it before. A window box is a box container on a window sill planted with flowers, for decoration.

Colney 'Atch is Cockney rhyming slang. The place in question is Colney Hatch in Hertfordshire and the meaning is "match".

Counterpane is another word for eiderdown or bed cover.

Pax is the Latin for peace. Children use it as a means of making peace between themselves after a fight.

Showing the white feather means being a coward. During the First World War women used to walk about in England looking for healthy young men who, in their view, should have enlisted in the army and giving each of them a white feather. A white feather is the symbol of cowardice.
