Now, if you mean , "Is Canada SOUTH from Grand Rapids or NORTH," the answer is north, though you'll have to cross Lake Michigan, the Upper Peninsula, and Lake Superior to get there if you go straight north. Go south from Grand Rapids and you hit Indiana.
Best bet is to head easterly to Port Huron or Detroit, though you can go northerly, cross the Mackinac Bridge and go to Sault Ste. Marie

Grand Rapids, Michigan is under Canada. On the West side of the lower penisula of Michigan. Although there is a small "leg" of Canada that extends down almost to Ohio. So it could also be considered along side of it. There are many cities named Grand Rapids though, so I suppose you need to clarify where you mean! Go to the Library or online and look at a map for the most precise answer. Good Luck
