Is there a lint trap in washers? Where is it located?

My dark clothes always have like lint on them when they come out of the washer and I cannot figure out why?

No late models have lint filters. Try washing only darks with darks and lights with lights. Todays front loaders are much gentler and don't grind up your clothes causing more lint. Some articles are lint givers like towels and sweaters, wash those separately. If your washer does have a lint trap its located at the top rear of the tub housing.

There are washers with lint traps. They are usually located somewhere around the top rim. Make sure you check all pockets before washing. And wash darks before lights and towels. (Don't put dark colored towels in with dark clothes.)

I believe they do, but each washer is different and the filter location depends on the make and model. Contact the manufacturer, or the store where you bought it. Check your owners manual if you still have it and know where it is. Check the manufacturer's website if not. Washers, like cars, have pretty much the same bits and pieces, but vary on location by brand of where those bits and pieces are.

They look like a miniature sock made from metal or nylon. They attach to
the end of the drain hose with a twist tie (usually). Probably a little
diagram on the package. Ask for them at a hardware store. If you have a
question as to how they work ask the person selling them to you.

Be advised they WILL clog up and then proceed to spray water everywhere BUT
down the drain. Change it sooner rather than later.
