I was thinking of making an independent school magazine with some people. Where could I get this printed? It will have to be very cheap to make as I can't make a profit from it...

i used to a newsletter at my primary school. it was like a little magazine tho.

i used to just type it all up in microsoft office at home, put it on a floppy disk (that shows how long ago it was).

then print a copy off at school and use their photocopier.

i used to run off over 200 copes. which is about 1000 sheets of plain A4, all free.

however, it was a good school, and the staff were great there, literally a one in a million, i cant see it being the same everywhere, but you could have a word with the head?

You could get it printed very cheaply in black and white and then have a small section at the end where people pay a very small amount for advertising. Like personals- people wanting to sell things (although I am not sure if there are regulations regarding publishing personal information). Or there could be something like an "I saw you/I'm sore at you" column at the end where people could pay 50p for an entry (coded notices to people they fancy- the idea is gold! It has more pertinence in a limited environment like a school.)

I would advise depending on size of people helping and distribution population using personal printers in the beginning. When possible, as circulation grows, go together and purchase a commercial style printer or find a local small printing company to aide you. GOOD LUCK.
