The pain is in the shoulder blade and goes down the arm to the elbow. Nothing seems to help much. Anyone know anything that has worked for them besides muscle relaxants, OTC pills, etc.?

I have attached a link below to a kit that helped me immensely, "The Miracle Ball Method" by Elaine Petrone. It comes with two soft inflated balls and teaches a passive way of stretching and relaxing the muscles. She teaches quite a bit about breathing, about how we hold tension by not fully breathing and stretching the diaphragm and rib cage. I think you will find this helps, as I have been able to get away from most painkillers as a result of working with this (although 'working' is probably not the right word since it is all about letting your body relax). Good luck and feel better!

Use warm vegetable oil to rub gently. Get somebody to help you.
