Please do not go to any of the on line sites (like the one suggested by the poster above). These are considered amateurish and not REAL publishing. He states he published his memoirs. (Chuckle, chuckle, chuckle.) This is called VANITY publishing and you pay to have it done! His memoirs? Who on earth would want to read this guy's memoirs unless he is someone noteworthy, like a noted scientist, author, actor, sports figure, etc.? A vanity publisher, that's who! One who wants to take your money (and took his) because everyone seems so desperate to have a book published. Don't quite know why that is. Perhaps they want what they consider to be their fifteen minutes of fame, or something.
Anyway, the real publishing world is VERY difficult to get into, and you really need to understand that most publishers do NOT accept unsolicited work, especially from amateurs. They have backlogs of hundreds of thousands of manuscripts in "slush" piles and are not looking for more. In other words, the supply FAR outweighs the demand in the publishing field. Also, you need an agent for the most part and getting one of those is VERY tough, because they are VERY selective in whom they take on as a client. Of course, you can look up a few agents, send them a query letter and possibly a synopsis of your book (I hope it's PROFESSIONALLY written and typed, adhering to proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and manuscript style), and see what happens. Unless you have the blockbuster of the year, don't expect positive results.

Check out the link below. I used this publisher for my memoirs, and their work was both professional and affordable.
