the legal age in NY is 14 but it depends on how old your child is. i would let a 13 year old babysit my child if the child was older than 5, but any younger than that probably not especially a baby when i was 13 i used to babysit the kids next door who were 5 and 7. the mom had a baby too but i was only allowed to watch him if she ran to the store or was taking a shower. and thinking back at that time, i don't think i really would of been able to handle a baby. babies are too much responsibility for a 13 year old, where as older kids just have to be played with and fed.

Well first off how old is your child, are the 13 year olds parents around in case of an emergency? I mean I remember babysitting when I was 13 and 14 years old.

i'm 13 years previous and that i babysit lots and function been babysitting considering the fact that i became 10 years previous, and became a mom's helper for 3 years formerly that, and function have all the coaching and duty and adulthood as apparently like u do, so confident i think of people who completely hire u to babysit, :). i've got constantly charged $8 an hour for a million new child and $2 greater for each further new child, yet whilst u wanna value $5 an hour then pass forward, :)

it depends on the child, I was very mature at the age 13 and I baby sat all the time, so if the child is responsible then yes, and only if I know the child.

Not if the babysitter's screen name is Hot Babe and spends all their time on the computer looking for babysitting jobs on the internet instead watching the kids.

Ok depends on if the 13 year old parents were home and lived close by in case he or she needed an adult. It also depended on for how long. I think 13 is ok as long as their parents are close by and you know them.

Depends on where I was going. If I was going to be in the neighborhood and at a place or event that I could easily leave then yes, but if I was going somewhere far or a place that I would have trouble excusing myself then no.

No first count is I don't have any kids yet. The second reason is I don't know how careful anyone would be with anybodys kid. Get a few more years under your belt.
