An African american cannot be President. You have to have been born a US citizen. African American implies dual citizenship. Did you mean a black American?

African American

Are you okay? This is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. We do not simply elect anybody to be our leader. A woman of good standing and with good national appeal could certainly win a presidential election here. But so far, there are none of those types running. As for an AFRICAN American? You can't be both. Either you are an African or you are an American. And if you are an American, you most certainly can run for president. You won't win, but you can run. This Osama guy, he is not only openly AFRICAN, he is also MUSLIM. Now, excuse me if I'm wrong, but aren't we fighting against radical Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq? Who in their right mind would elect an AFRICAN and MUSLIM to be the chief executive of the United States of America? So, to be perfectly honest here, the Democratic party had better hope that a true red-blooded American patriot steps up for their party and at least makes a good run for the presidency. Hitlery and Osama are not going to do it for them. The Republican will put forth a great all-American candidate whom has no ties to our enemies (Osama), nor ties to capitol crimes (Hitlery) and socialistic programs. Perhaps the Dems should take a good look at a fine, stand-up American within their party, Mr. Joseph Lieberman.

Why are Caucasian such bigots?i really really wish you could feel What others do u know exactly how ignorant your race was before they started killing stealing and destroying other races since the days of the roman empire(no baths, comets means witchcraft,no idea of science)i thought America was the land of the great and the home of the free?u guys r such hypocrites.....nothing is wrong with Hilary's bid she is a bright ambitious woman with the strength of will to lead your country i bet if Condie Rice put in a bid u Caucasian will manage to find something to discredit her..What the Mike F drivel just showed was religious intolerance...so far u r a Muslim u r a terrorist.isn't that narrow minded and just plain stupid?how can people do this to themselves?so if your father is a junkie u as a matter of genetics will become a junkie?
On a lighter note why pass up a chance to call Bill Clinton first Husband or first Gentleman?

So far there's only one woman and one half-African- American in the race. There's nothing saying either of those two will win.
The Democrat side is coming up with more and more candidates. The Republicans haven't even started yet.
Anyone who predicts the winner at this stage is goofy.

I honestly think it WILL be one or the other... I think that the American public is tired of the corruption that the Republicans brought to capitol hill the past eight years and that either Obama or Hillary will be the democratic option as far as the primaries go.
*Wow, I am surprised at how many people here like to pick apart your use of "African-American" rather than just answer the question as it was intended. By the way way Barack OBAMA (not Osama) is NOT Muslim, He attends Trinity United Church of Christ, not that it would matter if he were or not...we are fighting terrorists-the majority of which happen to be Muslim Radicals, but we are not fighting Muslims as a whole--in fact there are thousands of muslims in our armed forces fighting for the freedoms you hold dear. Barack Obama also has plenty of experience as far as I am concerned:seven years with the state legislature, about 6 or seven years of teaching constitutional law, as well as his two years as the junior senator from Illinois (which will be 4 by the time th '08 elections come around)so about 15-17 years altogether.....

Barack Osama has only been a US Senator for a little over 2 years. So he's black...so what? Shouldn't someone have to prove themself in some way before taking over the presidency of the most powerful nation in the world? What has he done? Anything? Hello?

I believe neither is going to be a president. I recently heard on Fox News that 40% voters wouldn't vote for a woman and 38% say no to a black president. How does that help either of them?
would vote for either of them if they are good enough for the country. I really wouldn't care about who they are.

I don't think Barak Obama will win, if he becomes the Democrat's candidate - he would be too radical a choice for a country still very much segregated on racial lines.

Hillary Clinton stands a better chance - but I'm not convinced that she would actually win. Which means you're left with a middle-aged white man again.
