Yes! my brother was attacked by a gang and suffered a head injury which caused a pretty large blood clot on his brain, although they only found it after I demanded they do a brain scan! they were gonna send him home after one day in hospital and he couldn't even stand or open his eyes because of the pain in his head! They found the clot and kept him in for over a week, the clot shrank on it's own and he has completely recovered now, they warned us that it may need draining if it didn't shrink by itself but thank goodness that was not the case! hope he feels better stay positive and don't let the doctors fob you off and mess you about, if your worried something is not right say it until your blue in the face to make them take action.

What do you mean by blood clot "on the brain?" If you are talking about a stroke, where a blood clot interrupts the blood flow to the brain this is what is called an ischemic stroke. With oxygen rich blood flow cut off to the affected area of the brain, certain deficits are going to occur, depending on the area. It is all on a case by case basis. Physical therapy is probably the most beneficial treatment for your son if he indeed did have a stroke. With physical therapy he should be able to return to normal, or at least close to it.

While there is somehing known as a TIA (mini stroke...I had one, no ill effects besides a minor vision change) there is also a regular stroke, it depends on the location in his brain (determines what is affected) and the severity. I work with stroke victims sometimes the outcome isn't what the family hoped for and sometimes the outcome is amazing. Under a very skilled and caring doctor's care I'm sure you're "friend" will be fine. He is young and probably strong, the older a person is and the more severe the stroke, the more difficulty in recovery

His recovery would depend on if there was any damage caused by the clot. Unfortunately, you will not be able to get a straight answer from your doctor because they do not know enough to give you a straight answer. It is really a wait and see situation.

Best of luck to you both

It all depends on the location of the clot. I have seen patients make a full recovery, whereas others did poorly. Talk to his neurosurgeon to get the details and prognosis.

Well, my friend had bleeding in her brain which almost killed her, but it took a few years and she is doing much better. She had to talk, walk, think, all over again. There is a whole arsenal of information on the net which you can read to help your son in his recovery.

Do some research on glyconutrients and get him some. I have heard of some amazing recoveries when the body is supported with these essential nutrients.

Yes. My mother-in-law has had two brain aneurysms, twenty years apart. She is fine. She lost a bit of motor control of one leg, but with a brace, you'd never know the difference.

Good luck, hope and prayers to you!
