All of his films are awesome, I would have to say Jersey Girl wasnt the best movie ever. I think my fav has to be the original clerks film, "I'm not even supposed to be here today"
"Bunch of savages in this town"
The first time I saw it i was working at a cstore so I related to it really well.

Even though Clerks II was surprisingly funny and just about on par with the first Clerks, any self respecting Kevin Smith fan has to go with the original Clerks.
That movie is a classic. Black and white, no special effects, everyday discussions, Randall. Anyone that has ever worked in a convenience store like the Quik Stop understands why that movie is the best.
Other than Clerks, my favorite Kevin Smith movie would have to be Chasing Amy. It's not as ridiculously funny, but it's a great film. And Jason Lee is just genius in it. "Now THAT was a shared moment."

Clerks is a better film artistically speaking, but Clerks 2 is more over the top humor i.e. the donkey show,ATM and so on.I prefer Clerks.Chasing Amy's good too.

Clerks the first!
I thought it was great!! We even covered it in my cinema class back in college!!! The only thing about Clerks II that I liked was the whole Lord of the Rings/Star Wars Prequel Trilogy fight!

I thought Clerks 2 was funnier, though I am a big fan of Clerks. As for my favorite..gee, .....Dogma. Even though the theological argument used in this movie is infantile....Alan Rickman! Linda Fiorentino! George Carlin! and of course Jay and Silent Bob!!

I think his best film is Dogma. It takes many of the ideas that he had already created in his previous films and raises it all to a new level. The fact that he got death threats shows what a dangerous subject religion is (even in America). I think he made a movie that was thoughtful, intelligent and at the end spiritually uplifting. He walked a very thin line and did so masterfully.

The original was the better of the Two. I enjoyed the second, but it doesn't have the feel and grit of the original. At this point is was nostalgic for them to revisit these characters, but they didn't have the passion they had making the first--much more emotion involved when you bankrupt yourself to get something made.
Like all of his films--Near to my heart is Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back for the sheer ridiculousness of it---and because Lunchbox here, he loves the ....well you get the point.

Clerks. The second one was forced. Jason Mews is clean and sober, and he's not funny pretending.
I liked strike back.
