This will depend on who you are selling too. The current market price is $2.66 US in the mining industry. Call a local scrap metal company and see what they are willing to pay.
Keep in mind that copper prices fluctuate and like the stock market, they will go up and down. Which means buyers prices will go up and down. Buyers will have a margin as well and I would think each will vary (kinda like pawn shops) as to how much they will pay vs market price. Phone around and then compare what buyers are willing to pay you vs the current market price.
Now, consider that copper has gone up from $0.80 to as much as $4.00 in the last few years and you will realize timing and watching the metals market is important. Copper prices are heavy effected by what happens in Asia, especially China - one of the largest consumers.
If you have lots of copper, it will pay to sell when the markets are higher.

If it is £45 a kilo I now know why we had ALL our copper flower-tubs (which are cut off old water tanks) pinched from the garden. The only reason we keep flowers in them is:- the slugs/snails won't crawl over the copper to get at them !!!!! What annoyed us was that whoever took them turfed out all the newly planted spring flowers/bulbs and left a terrible mess. Hope they are that poor that they need to feed their kids, BUT rather think they are GREEDY THIEVES. Shame on them.............................b***ers.
