Don Novello aka Guido Sarducci aka Lazlo Toth is still alive but not very active in the entertainment industry - does some radio stuff. He tried running in the California Guv. race that everybody else did but didn't get enough signatures on the petition to qualify.
If you want to read some of his funniest work, check out the "Lazlo letters" where he writes to real companies and politicians with stupid questions. Yep ,he came up with that gig long before "Borat" ever thought about it.
