How close can you get to the OSCARS (Kodak theatre) without reserverd bleacher seating?

I was hoping to get bleacher seating but found out at the last minute that you need a reservations and they're already booked. Does anyone know how close I could get on foot standing somewhere or does security turn you back? Is it still worh goiing?

You would have to see from the street but honestly, security backs up the street some 2-5 miles away.
