NO! In my opinion a child needs a mother and a father, a male and a female, as I believe all families should have. Family life is continually being destroyed bit by bit, It is not natural to have two males or two females as parents, the child's own identity and self worth would be put at risk. What if the Child wanted to become a committed Christian and was torn by conscience of the moral question of Homosexuality and the teachings of Christ? No the rights of the child, to have a chance of a loving upbringing with a mother and father as parents should be paramount.

Wanderer; what if the PARENTS are committed Christians and they have a gay child? As for the teachings of Christ, I’m sure that won’t be a problem since Christ didn’t say a word about gays. It will soon be law, so no one really cares what your homophobic opinions are anyway.

They should "morally", and more importantly, legally, be allowed to adopt children if they want as long as they want to be loving parents. As long as someone meets the criteria required to adopt children then it shouldn't matter whether they are gay or straight.

Being a good parent is all that matters.

Terrible question. Provide evidence as to why not.

Gay couples should have the same adopting rights as straight couples. If they can provide a good home with all the necessary components for a healthy life, then why should they not be allowed to adopt?

Just because they have two mothers or two fathers, does not mean they would be any different then if they had one of each.

There are many gay couples just as well qualified at raising a family as straight couples.

Yes. I will offer you a shortened version of a story I read in, I think it was Newsweek, several months ago:

Two men, homosexual partners, became foster parents in the state of Florida. All three kids they took in were SEVERELY abused in their biological homes - one was nearly killed before children's services was called in. All three were young - by which I mean 5 years or younger - when these two men took them in. They attempted to adopt, but laws in Florida prohibit homosexual adoption.

Skip forward by 10 years. The men and their kids are now living in the Midwest, with the permission of the state - because the kids wanted to get out of the tourist trap that is Florida. Their dads included them in the decision of where to go, helped them decide pros and cons, and so on. One of the men quit his dream job and started working at home so there would be someone home when the kids got out of school. The money the state pays them for taking the kids isn't spent on the kids - it goes into a savings account for each boy to use in college, and their dads pay for them out of pocket just like any other parents. They have been offered love, appropriate discipline, and a good model of a healthy and loving relationship (these men have been together for something like 21 years). The last time I heard of the case, their dads were fighting the state - which was trying to declare them "unfit" and take the kids away, kids who have known them as parents for ten years or more. Why? Because they're both men.

The boys' heterosexual parents abused them, burned them, shook them, beat them. At least one would probably be dead if the state hadn't intervened.

If you died tomorrow, and your kids had to go to the heterosexual parents or the homosexual ones in this scenario, which set would YOU choose?

Why shouldnt they be? Gay couples can make just as good parents as straight couples. Surely the only thing that matters is that the child is in a safe, happy, secure environment, not the sexuality of its parents

Why not, they are entitled to have a family too and can give the kiddies as much care and attention and love as anyone else. There are so many kids without proper homes out there and too many kids in temporary, they deserve all the love and kindness they can get, the more stable loving homes the better

Actually i realy don't think it's a good idea, the child would really have a hard living growing up! and i don't think that his family would bw well accepted by this society! at least not know! so i just believe that a gay couple should just wait a few more year's before deciding in taking this step, and absolutely chose the right country to go ang live in, like maybe Spain, Britain or Holland where they could be more accepted. It's a difficult question to ask, but i believe it's worth talking about to find the best solution possible, and i do believe that the future will be better for everyone.......

Once again, adoption should be permitted on a case by case basis regardless of orientation.

Why should they NOT be? I've yet to hear a logical answer to this question. Most answers are nothing but religious-driven hate and bigotry.
Yes, they should be able to adopt. You think they would have a better life hopping from one foster family to another, risking abuse, neglect and more?
