Amsterdam is a city, not a country with it's own currency!
We use Euro here, and easiest way to remember is that the Euro is balancing around 1.30 USD
(so, always a bit more or less than that)

At the moment, $1.00 (USD) is worth approximately $1.70 (NLG - Netherlands Guilders). Amsterdam in particular is the EURO dollar (I believe) which means that $1.00 USD is worth about $0.77 EURO. However, you can check just about any currency conversion website and find out the current exchange rate as it does change from time to time.
