does any one know if there is symbolism accociated to flamingos?

The Flamingo is the national bird of the Bahamas.
In ancient Egypt it symbolized the god, Ra (it was also the picture used to represent the color red). It was believed by early Christians that the flamingo was the inspiration behind the phoenix (a representation of Jesus' resurrection)

That's all I could find about flamingos!

I would go with either saying in the modern age it symbolises ABSOLUTE FABULOSITY *with spangles and pasties* in a drag queen sort of way.

Otherwise, if you really yanked it around, you could link the sucker to the scarlet ibis and go from there. I've never seen anything particularly 'official,' though.

Yes...they symbolize vacation in Florida.
