We are going to be together when the time is right but right now its not so we are still just friends so I want to get him something but I don't want it to be like over the top romantic ya know? So I need some ideas!

Is he a tool kind of guy? How about a Leatherman multi-tool? Eddie Bauer has some neat random gifts. I got my husband a keychain last Christmas that has a compass and thermometer on it. Does he have a hobby, like comic books or something? Work from there.

I also got my husband a wireless mouse once even though he said no electronics, and now he loves it!

Give him a watch and write in the card, thanks for the great "time" we've had together as friends!!... Or anything else you might have in mind with the word "time" in to link it to the gift...

No "I love you's"!! You'll scare the poor guy away!!

GOOD LUCK!!

i recently answered a question similar to this one, and i'd say get him a watch.

pick one that fits his style (assuming he likes watches). theres lots of different types out there, leather, silver, gold, colored faces, digital ones, etc.

a watch is a nice thing to have, he can use it all the time, but it doesnt say "i own you" or anything, so its not a "possessive" item like a ring might be. and when he doesnt need it, he can take it off. lol. good luck picking something out!

Don't give him anything for Valentine's Day, unless you are ready to turn it into something else, meaning right now. I guarantee you, he will not give you anything for Valentine's Day. Feel lucky if you even see him on Valentine's day.
