When are the 'grown ups' going to keep murderers locked up for life?

Everyone deserves a second chance, but I guess it should depend on the circumstances. There are a few people locked up for murder that are innocent.

If we didn't believe in rehabilitation, we might never have discovered that bipolar was not a result of being possessed but a chemical deficiency inside our body. Now we have the ability to moderate and compensate for what we used to call anger problems, personality problems, and impulsive behaviors.

But if a person is convicted of murdering someone and is sentenced, that person has all the rights in the world to seek an appeal. It's not the best system but it's the best one we've got. Want to change it, get vocal and do something. In America, one voice counts.....as long as it's the loudest one.

To whom;

It is my opinion that criminals and terrorists are nothing more than predators. They care not at all about the aftermath they cause by deliberately victimizing the average citizens of the world. The only thing that will deter a predator is fear of injury, capture or death. Normally, the only thing that can instill that fear in a predator is a stronger predator.
When I grew up on the farm, if we had a Fox getting our Chickens, we shot the Fox and so forth. We took care of our animals because it was our responsibility and way of life to do so. This attitude should apply to the way we deal with the human predators worldwide that are disrupting our way of life and putting our loved ones in harms way. I think it is time to deal with these predators with accurate, precise, and abundant deadly force. Once the predators realize they will be killed if they do their deeds, they will think twice about putting themselves at risk. However, if they are of the type that will die for their cause, then by all means we should help them, in a most expeditious manner, upon their way!
It is time America started using her awesome power against those that would destroy her. If we do not, we will continue to take casualties. It is time to quit being so politically correct and start dealing with the problem! For instance, if we know where and in which countries terrorist groups are training and hiding, there should be massive preemptive strikes on those areas in which the terrorists are located, and total destruction should be the goal. If the countries complain, tell them simply to “Go to Hell”, and mean it! We do not need those countries to survive, nor do we need their allies. America needs to show the world that we are through letting terrorists kill our people, a few at a time, without taking quick and brutal and excessive retaliation against those guilty no matter where they hide.
If street gangs are ruling areas of our cities and killing innocent people, (like the family that made a wrong turn in Los Angles a few years back and were all killed in their car when they asked directions) declare martial law on that area, secure the parimeter, and conduct house to house search and seizure for weapons, illegal items and personnel wanted on warrants. In general, Absolutely and totally disrupt criminal lifestyles in their own back yards. Show the criminals and terrorists that if they do the crime they will surely pay dearly for their actions, there will be no safe havens, and they will probably die. Predators fully understand this simplistic action, and have since the beginning. It’s the way they live!
Personally, I take care of my own, legally carry a weapon, and will immediately neutralize any threat to my family, me, or any other innocent person I see being victimized. Because of the liberal attitude of our courts in America, our criminal justice system is ineffective. Because of the lack of personnel and frivolous use, our police are basically a reactionary force that can only respond after someone has been victimized, and then do very little to truly protect the victim. (If you are honest with yourself, you know these are sad but true facts)
Personally, I’m extremely glad I live in Texas where one can still legally protect what is theirs and killers are still executed as they should be.

I agree, if they take a life why should they get a few years and be allowed to walk free, their victim didn't get that luxury (I know sometimes it's not always that black and white). But I heard on the news today that the prisons are full so the judges have to grant bail unless they are a real danger to the community, so it's going to be a bit difficult to keep them locked up

As an adult, I admit to some shame in our judicial system. I do not agree with the statement that "It may not be a perfect judicial system but it's all we have." when the senate and congress can run around adding and subtracting laws like they were passing out candy to those whom that will satisfy.

We need a change in our judicial sytem and it's going to be the younger generations job to do it.

When we stop spending all the countries finances on useless things such as housing immigrants than we may have more funds available to build enough prisons to accommodate all these scum bags! If that fails someone should seriously reconsider the 'an eye for an eye theory' BRING BACK CORPORAL PUNISHMENT I SAY!

They only lock those up for life that kill adults. Notice those don't get out. Young people are expendable to them.
That is why they send guys right out of high school to die in foreign wars they don't care if they die. Notice it isn't adults that die in those wars.
They complain about abortion but don't think anything about sending them to die when they are 18.
But it does keep the economy up so they can have a better life.

Life should mean life...............in this country, you get 15 yrs, less for good behaviour. I was watching the local news today, a guy, wanted a taxi driver`s licence, was turned down, cause he was a murderer, he was sentenced to "life" in 1993...................it is only 2007 now, and he is in society, trying to get a job???????????? a taxi driver, of all things! The world has gone mad, they should serve "life".......life for a life, in my opinion!!!
