They have a very good chance. They have a long line of good scorers, the two time MVP, and Stoudemire is back and looking good. Their defense is not that bad. They have, after all, the second best record in the league right now and have won two streaks of 15. They score more than any other team and they do it quickly, giving the other team a chance to score more as well. Thus the misunderstanding that they are a weak defensive team.

The suns defeat to a mavericks and spurs team in the playoffs will strengthen the argument that defense wins championships. This has been proven to be true in the last 10 years teams that have won the championship have had a defense that was at least in the top 10 the chicago bulls, the la lakers, the san antonio spurs, the detroit pistons, and the miami heat. The suns defense is no where close to the top 10 and in terms of depth they are weak no one will be able to stop nowitski, terry will have a fun time with nash, and also diop will control the boards when the suns come to town to play dallas.

i think they have a good chance. i mean, yeah, they don't have all that much of defense. but let's look at phoenix-dallas comparison. but shawn marion on dirk, and you might dirk for only 15-20 points. without nowitzki(i know i spelled it wrong), the dallas mavericks are a number 6 seed. you have to look at the suns. they have so much power on the offensive end. nash, bell, marion, diaw, and stoudemire as your starting five? that's alot, defense or not. i mean, the suns must be playing SOME defense if they've had two 15 game winning streaks this year, one ending with the washington gilbert arenases....in double overtime.

The Phoenix Suns have so much working for them except for one thing - DEFENSE. Run and gun doesn't win championships anymore but it sure does look exciting.

The way they have been playing show me a team that can beat them. If Steve Nash can win the big game they can do it. Steve Nash=Peyton Manning. Peyton won his big game this year so maybe Nash will have the Same type of outcome.

as much as i love kobe and the lakers and the bulls, i have to say that dallas will win it all this year. theyre a good team this year, but if lakers manage to knock out dallas, then lakers will probably win a champ. because no one in the east can actually keep up with the elite teams in the west

Being a Suns fan, I am hoping they do. All of the issues that kept them from doing it last year seem to be resolved & they are playing some amazing basketball....and Nash just keeps getting more & more amazing!

im a suns fan, and i could see them in the championship. wont be easy, its true our defense isnt the best. i think the mavericks would have a better chance. their defense is much improved since the earlier years. the suns have 3 good defenders (amare, marion, bell) just not good team defense.

I don't think so. History has proven that team with defense will win champship.
Suns will lose to Mavs or Spurs in the playoff.

With how stingy their defense is, they might not be able to get any farther than the playoffs.
I'd like to see them win it this year though.
