If the Libs have a better solution, let's hear it. All politicians lie, only some get caught up in them. Bush has done some dumb stuff but the fact of the matter is we are at war and we need to work on ending it and getting our troops home. Iraq has been a problem even under the Clinton adminstration. He even said in a speech that the region is not safe with Saddam in power. All the Libs can argue that Iraq has nothing to do with 9/11, but if Saddam was still in power, Iraq would be another place for terrorists to hang out and plan attacks. Afghanistan was first, next Iraq, and sooner or later Iran will be next. The threats will always be there, gotta find them and eradicate them.

The reality in Iraq reminds Americans of another war were more troops would eventually break the enemy. It took a great number of lives to end that war. The question is how many will it take to end this one. I served over in Iraq for one year as an infantryman. I have always been a republican, but i cannot follow blindly. A victory in Iraq is almost impossible. Bush is not in touch with that reality or maybe does not want to go down in history as a president that lost a war. What we are facing now reminds of another conflict; the Russian invasion of Afghanistan. In that case the might of the Russian military was no match for an enemy that believed in martyrdom. After about 15,000 casualties they pulled out. It has now been 4 years and Iraq is not getting better, and although pulling out would have its consequences I rather deal with that. As for letting the president prove his policies, he has done so unchecked until now. The results speak for themselves. I don't know if you have been over there or not, but if you have you would probably question the president's "surge"; a plan that will most likely fail because it is largely a military response to a political and sectarian problem. A problem that the Iraqis have to solve on their own.

Because the President went in half-assed and against the wishes of those on the ground. It's a fact that those that didn't share the Administrations beliefe in how the way should be fought were forced out. This Administration hand-picked the intel that went into the reports to Congress. I know several people who worked on the reports that went up who resigned or refused to re-enlist because the conclusions they came up with were not the same as those that were ultimately credited to them.
And what's wrong with admitting that you made a mistake? The Dems and libs have been doing it for awhile. This Administration is just beginning to.
This is a President whose policies are counterproductive to his goals. The Iraq invasion was to deter Iran and North Korea from pursuing their nuclear goals. Instead, both countries accelerated their programs and one will have the means to strike the U.S. mainland with a nuclear missile in the near future. He invaded Iraq to stop the spread of terrorism. Instead it has become a training ground and a recruiting tool for the terrorists. This is an administration that has consistently rewarded incompetence and ineptitude.
I hold the officeo fthe president in the highest regards, I just don't have any respect for George Bush because he is unwilling to admit mistakes and learn from them.

When will he prove his policies? in the last day in the office? The media and liberals changed their mind and now turning against the president because people in the majority are against the war. Your president was not always right and always wrong in major issues like the war in Iraq in the first place and how he dealt the hurricane Katrina catastrophe. His popularity is low because of his policies in major issues and his inability to deal with the reality. As for the brainwashing abilities of the liberals: They are not the only ones using that technique. Even here in Greece where i live we suffer from the republican brainwashing techniques in many issues. Finally the Vietnam solution and result of Iraq was already a reality when you gave the order of attacking Iraq. From 10$ a barel of petrol it rose to almost 70$. That way you helped Venezuela, Russia, Iran receive more money from exporting petrol and made them stronger and politically more significant. E.U.,China and other countries turned to your enemies for political support and energy contracts. I hope that covers your rhetorical question!

I wager you probably did no longer care concerning the Iraq human beings formerly Bush invaded so Exon cellular, their Sheik companions and Blackwater might have loose protection and providence income? Now you're a humanitarian. Are you attracted to helping human beings in impoverished international locations? Darfur? that would desire to be greater humanitarian... we've spent adequate funds, time, and lives lost over there -- and that i desire we had on no account long gone. I additionally do no longer believe interior the death penalty, so became sickened by ability of the Sedam Execution whilst Bush and Cheney additionally are in command of conflict crimes... no longer that I enjoyed Sedam, yet we helped him in years previous, as we offered hands and airplanes to Iran, and all the midsection East. Are you happy that lots of have died and gasoline expenses have sky rocketed -- whilst Oil and protection income soared and our economic gadget tumbles? we can greater powerful use our components greater strategically, and peace is the respond. concentration on Renewable potential won't purely create a sustainable international yet be worthwhile new technologies and create jobs.

I think it is because they (the media)do not look at the big picture. They want to incite the viewing public to get on the band wagon and bring our troops home. Don't get me wrong I want the troops home as much as anybody. But, I also think that the Iraqi's, need to step up and take control of their country back. Instead of letting Americans and other allied countries, do it for them. I also heard on Montel show today that there are things happening we never hear about. Such as our troops protecting the oil that sustains Iraq's economy. I don't have a solution. But, I think we could do better at getting the Iraqi's, on their own .

Nobody voted for an "invasion". They voted for the "option" to use force.
VERY big difference. The Presidency deserves respect. But not Bush.
He has made a mess and is in over his head.

Bush has had four years to prove his policies. They are a failure. His popularity has less to do with the media and more to do with the reality in Iraq. It is not just democrats. Republicans, at least three that I know of, are also not in favor of his plan. At least we are not "useless idiots"

....because Bush is a failure (8 years still not enough?) and lack of depth. His policies are for the people who are not into critical-thinking!
No matter what argument or blame to the media, their job is to stir up discussions. Bush has proven to the World that 'enough is enough' especially in handling domestic issues and problems during the Katrina saga, health care, economy, minimum wage, unity and in the Senate himself (lack of support from fellows Republican).
Let alone in the international affairs. The lack of support for the War, to pull or not to pull the troops, lied about W M D, ignore Kyoto Protocol, avoid global warming, discrimination against gays and woman abortion and international relations with Europe, Middle East and the rest of the World! What make Colin Powell resign in the first place? ....He is too smart for the Administration! Period!
