if y varies inversely as x^2, then

y = C/x^2

Now then, if y = 2 when x = 4, what is C?

2 = C/4^2 or 2 = C/16 or 32 = C.

As y varies inversely as x^2 you can write

y=k/x^2 IIIAs for x =4 y = 2 you get 2= k*(1/16) So

k=32 and your function is y = 32/x^2
