i think we adapted to our surroundings. everyday its proven that things adapt to fit their surroundings, like the komodo dragon that gave birth without ever being introduced to a male partner.

of course we adapted if we didnt the whole earth would be a temprate climate we would have no deserts or glaciers
if you take away the technology man can really only survive in few places, not to mention our invetions of fire and tools i.e
spears, axes, traps for food, clothes, shelter
are all things man created to try to adapt to his surroundings look at the differance betwwen homes of the iniut eskimos and the apache indians with their adobe's they adapted to thier natural surroundings the reason we are teh top of the food chain is our adaptablity seriously i marvel every day at what the human race has created and how we managed to move from prey to preditor
i mean think about the first people who decided to try and kill a bear! what balls! "hey frank look at this sharp stick i made let's go throw it at that 2100 lbs brown thing that keeps eating the kids"
uumm yea how could you not see the awnser to your own qestion just look around and imagine how things where in the begining

We did not adapt to it, we adapted it to us.
The world as we know it is very much an engineered environment.
Try living "in the world" for awhile, and you'll find that we need to adapt it to our needs. The "real" world is full of parasites, thorns, predators, and a hundred ways to die or be killed in very unflattering ways. Water is dirty, food is uncooked, toilet paper is a pine cone, and hygiene is impossible. You'd be as likely to die from a mosquito bite as you are from an ear infection or childbirth.
Human poplulation would be a percentage point fraction of what it is now if we had not gained control of our environment to suit our needs. I'll leave that to a different question to determine if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Adaption. The world does not give one fig that we are here, but we may be acting like a cancer on a cell now and instead of adapting now we are mutating or metastasizing and will cause the death of the planet and ourselves.

Definitely believe or not but this world (Earth) is only God. The Earth is gives us air, food and shelter also. But we finish ourselves by cutting trees, building construction on river and digging hill and mountain and increasing air pollution in the air.

Many religious people believe that the world was created just for us. Of course, that's nonsense. We adapted, as did all life forms.

The world was created for our benefit, to live, love, enjoy and take care of it. To raise families. We had it made.
Guess what? We did not adapt. We have been wreaking havoc since time immemorial trying to adapt it to our confusing contrary ways.
